Born in Devon, UK, and now residing in the breathtaking Sea to Sky Corridor of British Columbia, I am an artist working in two primary disciplines—pressed botanical art and acrylic painting.
My journey with botanical art began on my 19th birthday when my father handcrafted a flower press for me in his workshop. Since then, I have been collecting and preserving hundreds of flowers, leaves, ferns, and mosses from around the world, many of which have been pressed for over a decade. Each piece I create is composed entirely of these preserved natural materials, forming one-of-a-kind illustrations that reveal intricate details upon close examination. My work blends the raw beauty of nature with the subtle interplay of color and texture, offering a glimpse into the delicate complexity of the organic world.
Alongside my botanical work, I am also an acrylic painter, drawn to both still life and landscapes. My landscape studies are deeply influenced by the dramatic BC Coastal Mountains that surround me, while my still life paintings focus on capturing light, shadow, and reflection. Whether painting a winter sundown over the mountains or the soft glow on a reflective surface, I strive to convey depth, movement, and atmosphere through expressive brushstrokes and careful attention to detail.
Through both disciplines, my art is a celebration of nature’s fleeting beauty, drawing viewers in to pause, look closer, and discover the extraordinary details hidden in the smallest, often-overlooked wonders of the natural world.
